BREATH CONNECT PHYSIO

Your core muscles are your “breath pump” muscles. Your breathing muscles are your core muscles. You’re not functioning at your best if you aren’t breathing well, it’s that simple. Our bodies are so incredibly connected!  Breathing, using the correct muscles, allows power, strength, calm, it really has such a profound effect on our whole body.

You take on average 20,000 breaths each day, if you use your core muscles to properly do this, this stimulates many good processes within your body. Optimal breathing enables better oxygen delivery to your tissues, strengthens your 'core muscles' it stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system to relax your body, reduces your heart rate, decreases your blood pressure, aids in digestion, and promotes healing. This balanced state is where we should ideally spend majority of our time.

Unfortunately, our modern day, fast paced, highly stimulating lifestyles lead many people to spending too much time in a stressed, sympathetic nervous system driven state.

At Breath Connect Physio, we are so passionate about helping our patients address their issues at the root cause. With over 20 years of clinical experience each, plenty of research and further education we have found that optimal body movement and function starts with your breath.

BREATH AND YOUR  BODY- IT'S ALL CONNECTED

“I wish I’d learned this sooner”

“Why don’t they teach us this at school?”

After hearing these two comments repeatedly from patients, I decided that we needed to share this knowledge on a wider scale, to younger patients.

About

About Us

Breath Connect Physio is a duo-team, we met at Auckland University of Technology back in New Zealand while studying Physiotherapy over 20 years ago. We moved to Australia together and have worked in the same clinics in Hervey Bay, Melbourne and now Manly, Sydney. We have always loved bouncing ideas off each other, picking each other brains, sharing new theories and our passion for constant learning over the years.

While gaining experience in Musculoskeletal private practice clinics, treating a great variety of conditions and running clinical pilates rehab classes, Claudia had 3 babies and went deep into further education of breath and all things clinical pilates and core rehabilitation. Claudia is currently treating Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Breath/Core Physio patients.

Riley's worked very hard and worked with professional athletes in Melbourne, senior roles in a Pilates education company and completed her Masters in Exercise physiotherapy among many other physio achievements. Riley is embarking on her journey of motherhood and we couldn't be more excited for her.

Together, we are dedicated to providing high-quality information to our patients. We have written the in-person Parent and child course together. We are committed to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals.

We believe in personalized, evidence based treatment, addressing movement dysfunctions and problems from the deepest level where they originate and strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients.

Claudia is currently providing the Physiotherapy and Breath/Core education Services.
